The SEAT Exeo is a large family car and flagship model. Its name ‘Exeo’ is derived from the Latin word ‘exire’, which means ‘to go beyond’. The name was an interesting choice and sparked conversation amongst SEAT enthusiasts at the time as it broke their current tradition of naming their cars after cities in Spain.
It was initially unveiled at the 2008 Paris Motor Show and began production in March 2009 as a four-door, five-seater saloon, with a five-door, five-seater estate model coming into production in August 2009.
However, after 81,552 cars were manufactured, SEAT decided it was time to cease production of the SEAT Exeo in May 2013. During its time of production, the SEAT Exeo saw various models and facelifts.
The initial model lineup included two diesel engines and three petrol engines, with a third diesel engine added in September 2009. In May the following year, three new petrol engines were added to the lineup and were available in three different versions: Reference, Stylance, and Sport.
